Why must we wrap foil around doorknob when we are alone? Is it beneficial or it is only a clickbait?

I am sorry but this is a stupid question, it doesn’t make sense to put the foil on the doorknob to guarantee the safety of your house.
I think it is beneficial when you want to check of any unwanted mysterious activities, whether the last night was secure or not.
For me, I think that wrapping foil around the doorknob is useless as it can’t prevent the entering the house from burglars.
Don’t think of these stupid ways to guard your safety, I suggest installing a CCTV camera outside your home, then you can identify any mysterious activity that will happen in your absence.
If you put the foil in the doorknob, the noise of the knob from someone trying to enter you house would be louder than without foil.
