Greetings,
Could you do me a favor please Guys? , I don’t know the answer to this question:
Which method is used by a PAT-enabled router to send incoming packets to the correct inside hosts?
- It uses the destination TCP or UDP port number on the incoming packet.
- It uses the source TCP or UDP port number on the incoming packet.
- It uses the source IP address on the incoming packet.
- It uses a combination of the source TCP or UDP port number and the destination IP address on the incoming packet.
Hey Harper,
Of course with pleasure!
Anyhow, the PAT-enabled router uses the destination TCP or UDP port number on the incoming packet.
Hope this helps!!
A is the only answer that makes sense. However, When traffic returns to the router from the public network, the router would compare the destination port to the PAT mapping table to determine to which inside host the traffic should be sent.
A and E are correct but the question doesn’t specify “Select two answers”. However, if the question does not specify “select two answers” I would go with A.
Yes, I also see the first and last options are somehow right. But the best and most relevant answer is the first one.
Hi,
I am sure I have seen this question before somewhere? Anyway, I picked the first option which is correct.
