Avoid wearing something similar to what the bride will wear, and try to not wear white and purple colors, as they represent sadness and death.
The main thing, try to not upstage the bride, this is a common thing in all wedding cultures. You can wear a black dress; it is a unique thing in the Vietnamese weddings.
No matter what kind of wedding you are invited in, keep in mind to pay attention to some specific dress rules especially the colors. As in the Vietnamese culture, each color represents something.
One of the most popular things in Vietnam is the Vietnamese wedding dress or what they call the Ao Dai.
You can wear it as a guest on this occasion or on other formal occasions.
You can wear Ao Dai as a way of showing respect to the Vietnamese culture, just be sure to wear your Ao Dai over pants or trousers.
